Make it Monday #31

If you want to know how to use your supplies in a new way, just ask a child.  I had some die cut ice-cream tops sitting on my desk and I asked my son what he thought they were.  'Jellyfish' was his reply.  I knew I had to try it out to see if it would work, hence this card.  I made it for the Papertrey Make it Monday #31 challenge - Creating Backgrounds with non Background Stamps.  I created a jellyfish using the ice cream top (from the set 'Sweet as Can Be') and postage cancellation marks as legs (from the set 'Postmarks').  I stamped both with white ink on the background.  The legs of the pink jellyfish are made from glitter DMC embroidery thread.  I drew the eyes and mouth on the pink jellyfish using a circle template.

Supplies:
Stamps: Postmarks, Sweet as Can Be, Tiny Treats Birthdays - Papertrey Ink
Others: Matstack 5 die - Papertrey Ink; Brown pen; Versacolor inks; foam adhesive squares; Thread - DMC 5288.

Superheroes

Here are two cards that I made using exactly the same layout as my previous card.  This time I used digital images of superheroes.  They are from Mariah DeMarco.

Bakers Twine Storage

Here is how I am storing my Bakers Twine, using mini M&M containers.  I made the hole in the top of the container using a nail and pushed in an eyelet.  Luckily the mini M&M's containers come in many colours!

Hair Challenge

After completing the Copic intermediate Certification class last week, I thought I should at least find some time to practice!  The hair actually started out blonde, but I decided I did not have enough different markers in that range to make it work, so I started adding browns.  I used so many different markers in the end. The cord for the balloon was made from DMC embroidery thread (I still cross stitch).  I took one strand and twisted it and then folded it over to form a cord.  I glued it down by applying the glue with a toothpick, so it was a bit fiddly.

Supplies:
Stamps: Party - Sugarplum; Best Wishes, Woodgrain - PTI
Others: Copic Markers; Versamark ink; Momento ink; Thread #554 - DMC; White gel pen

Blast off

This card is one where I used my Copic markers to colour in on Kraft paper.  As I coloured the rocket ship, I found they worked  best if I went quickly.  The buildings are made using a punch (Plaid, from EK Success).  I have seen this done on a few cards recently and thought it was a great use of the punch.  For the moon, I embossed a piece of Kraft and then rubbed it with silver and white,  before covering in course glitter.

Supplies:
Stamps: Blast Off - Bo Bunny
Punch: Plaid and Circle - EK Success
Others: Copic Markers; Momento ink; Embossing folder - Provocraft; Coarse glitter - Martha Stewart
