Sewing Staples

Here is the scissor keeper I made using the Sewing Staples kit from Papertrey Ink. The scissor fob is made using the heart shape from the Coffee Cozy Additions die. I bought the faux gold leather material from my local Spotlight store.  It worked really well with the dies, as it is not very thick.

Dies: Sewing Staples kit, Coffee Cozy Additions - Papertrey Ink
OtherPink Thread - DMC 936, White Thread - DMC Blanc, Gold Thread - Sullivans Crochet Yarn; Pink and White Acrylic/wool Felt; Gold Faux Leather; Ribbon, Beads - Papertrey Ink.

Pincushion

I wanted to make a pincushion for my work table.  After playing around with some of the stitched rectangles and circles from Papertrey Ink, I found that three of the second smallest rectangle would fit into one of the third smallest circles (after joining them along the short seams).

Supplies:
Dies: Stitched Rectangles, Stitched Circles - Papertrey Ink
OtherPink Thread - DMC 936; Pink Acrylic Felt; Fabric; Fusible interfacing

Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #204

This week's challenge at Papertrey Ink is to use a watercolour 'smooshing' technique. I always need cards for boys, so I created a galaxy background.  It took me a few attempts! The first time I used too much water and the next time not enough. The third time was just right!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Boy Basics: Out of This World - Papertrey Ink
Ink:Indigo, Violet, Grape, Imperial Blue - Versacolor; Black - Versafine and Stayzon
Dies: Boy Basics: Out of This World, Tag Sale 3 - Papertrey Ink; A6 Metric Card Stackers - Cheery Lynn

Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The theme for the spring coffee lovers blog hop is "Spring", so I chose to incorporate butterflies.
I assume that the phrase 'spring for' is used in many English speaking countries - it means to treat someone.  I made the phrase using a sketch pen on my Silhouette machine.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Beautiful Butterflies, Heart to Heart Coffee, Turning a New Leaf - Papertrey Ink
Ink:Sage, Turquiose, Orchid, Camellia, Narcissus - Versacolor; Black - Versafine
Dies: Heart to Heart Coffee - Papertrey Ink; A6 Metric Card Stackers - Cheery Lynn
Other: Black Sketch Pen, Beautiful Dreamer Sketch font - Silhouette; Markers RV02, BG23, R43 - Copic
