Xmas 2010

Finally got around to doing a Christmas card for this year.  I am not sending too many this year, as I am too busy!  The card is based on a design I saw by Sherri Barron here: http://sherribarron.typepad.com/my_weblog/2010/05/memorial-day-invitation.html

I created the text in MSWord and coloured the reindeer using Copic markers.  There is a little red rhinestone on Rudolph's nose.

Dripping Paint

This card is quite simple.  I punched the 'drips' and then painted the front of the card.  To fit the punch in I cut the card front in a stepped pattern. I stamped the woodgrain and then clear embossed it.

Supplies

Cardstock: cream linen
Cutting:  drip punch - Martha Stewart

Stamps:  Woodgrain backgroud - Papertrey ink

Other:  embossing ink - Versamark dazzle,  paint - blue, white - Plaid, clear embossing powder, Copic marker.

Not so CAS

Here I was, trying to do the CAS challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  Problem is that I am not well.  The lesson has been learned.  Do not create when unwell.  As you can see, I started adding bits and pieces, so it is no longer CAS:

Supplies:

Cardstock: co'ordinations - chocolate box, others unknown
Cutting:  scallop circle - Spellbinders, flourish - QuicKutz, Corner rounder - We R Memory Keepers.

Embossing:  Provocraft, plus homemade diamond

Stamps:  Hero Arts

Other:  brown ink - VersaColor, pink glitter - Kindyglitz, ribbon, beads, pink pearls - Kaisercraft, pearl beads

Storage

Here is a photo of how I store my ribbons and embellishments - all by colour.  At the moment, red and pink are together, and yellow and orange are together.  I really need to get some more clear buckets (they are plastic take-out containers).

The only things I have separated are the buttons and bling.  They are stored in small plastic containers by colour (these containers are designed for spices).

This system works for me.  When I want something green on my card or layout, I just tip out the whole bucket on the table and pick something.

Father's Day card

After completing the Copic Certification class in Sydney, I wanted to practise colouring straight away.  Here is my first attempt since the class:

I CASEd a card I saw on Splitcoast Stampers (here). The sentiment is printed (I used MS Word).

Shower Favours

These shower favours are for my sister's baby shower.  The lollies inside are Pascal caramels - only because they have pink and blue wrappers.  The plastic babies are a bit of fun.  I was going to make carrot jockey cupcakes with them, but I am not sure that she reads Cakes Wrecks, and so she may not appreciate them!

Tissue Flower

This card uses a flower created from tissue paper.  The tutorial to create the flower is on Splitcoast Stampers http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/tissueflower/

I used different sized scallop circle nestabilities and inked the edges in 'old rose' Versamark ink.
